NO One Does It Better Like MIKE ABDUL

Q: Mike Abdul is a name that needs no introduction in the Nigerian music circle - most especially in the gospel fold. To some, Mike redefine the act of gospel music in Nigeria, to others your openness is the key and to some your simplicity- how did you start your music career and how would you describe yourself?
Music career started with MIDNIGHT CREW after i had tested the waters of music on several platforms, both religious and non-religious. It wasn't easy making up my mind to go all out for music and i thank GOD i did.
I can only describe myself as one who decided to dedicate his music trade and talent to things that pertain to GODLINESS. Despite my imperfections, i am passionate about and dedicated to promoting all that is of GOD.
Q: The energy in your Music whether it be listening to the audio or watching you is unbelievable- how did you get this kind of energy?
The energy comes from my passion for what i do and my intentions to show the praise in me. I believe that you don't just praise GOD in your mind, praise must show.
Q: People describe your kind of singing as sensational; why do you think people like your kind of Gospel music and what do you intend to change?
I really can't determine what people will like, all i do is try to portray the JOY that people in CHRIST should have and sing the songs in a way they will love to praise their GOD. I believe i am privileged to be a praise leader for a people to their GOD and try to always be connected to the spirit of the highest praise. I'm a people person.
Q: Midnight crew let a lot of people to know you- even though you are still together but you have also started something on your own. How are you managing it that your shows, interviews, rehearsals and tour does not come in between that of Midnight crew?
It is difficult to separate Mike Abdul from Midnight Crew. Midnight Crew is a mother-board to several aspects of my ministry and i do not take that lightly. I'm an offspring of Midnight Crew and Midnight Crew management is always consulted first before commitments are made for Mike Abdul. Love and Respect for one another is something we have built over the years.
Q: What challenges did you encounter when you started?
My major challenge was getting accepted and representing the Midnight Crew quality properly. I then had to determine a sound that will be a little different from the Mike Abdul of Midnight Crew and that was a lot of work. It took a lot but we eventually got it.
Q: If you are not Mike Abdul, how would you describe him as a person who listens to him and watch him?
I'll describe Mike Abdul as one who effects change by constantly bringing fun to gospel music.
Q: What do you think a person who stumbles into your music is likely to take away with?
I think it's JOY, inexplicable JOY. I'm a joyful person and I know I’m contagious.
Q: Do you have any one you look to or watch to get inspired or motivated?
Sammie Okposo inspires me, Kenny K'ore motivates me and I’m always watching Patricia King to see if i measure up well.
Q: Morire is a mega hit no doubt about it – what can you say about the success, how many awards have you received from it and is there any other award that you have won individually?
MoRiRe was first written by MoniQue and together we worked on it to express and dispense the Joy of Gratitude to GOD. Produced by SammYoung, technical contributions from Rasqie, video shot and directed by LexTen and big thank you to all bloggers and media persons who supported and also to the Church for accepting to promote out Gratitude to GOD. MoRiRe has enjoyed several awards and brought me more influence and honor.
Q: Do you have any project you are working on?

Q: Apart from music what else do you do?
