# Who is Funke Ismail?

Funke ismail a trained accountant turned an event planner and manage event services.
So why did you drop the profession of an accountant?

I decided to pursue my dreams and what I have passion for . When I was a child I have this passion to create crafty things and design. I like using my hands as well; now i am doing what I enjoy doing .

# So are you now fulfilled that you have started doing what you want?

Yes I’m fulfilled because I am doing what I have passion for and what I have passion for is making people’s special day colorful.

#How was starting up for you?

It was not easy at all but I was able to stand up then because of the passion I had for what I am doing and I know where I am going.

# Is there any point in time you wanted to drop this talent and passion of yours?

Oh Yes.

# Why?

Attracting customer was a big issue, the cost involved and the painful part is when you are seeing a lot of unqualified people in the business.

# How is it getting colors for people who are demanding?

We always have customers like that who are demanding about this color and that but what we do is educate them on colors and meaning, then advise them and suggest color that compliment.

# How lucrative is this business in Nigeria?

It is very lucrative because there will always be reason for people to celebrate either from individuals or corporate bodies.

#That means event planning and services is really a great business?

Yes it is.

# How long have you been in this business?

6 years.

#Do you have advise for people who want to venture into this business?

For anything you want to do in life, foundation matters, you have to be literate to go into this business. Secondly, you have to be trained and most importantly is passion- this is key in this business-without it, you can’t go far.
