When you walk about the streets of Nigeria market, and using Lagos as an example, you hear the message of "NA MUMU DEY GO BOUTIQUE" from sellers of used cloths. Sighting this guys and sometimes women sellers singing this chorus, you will be amused with their passion for their products.
The Sellers of these used clothes is not the issue nor their Slogan, but the high patronage is really astonishing.
On meeting some of these sellers of used clothes and watching them sell - they indeed are making high sales. On wondering why their sales is high even though their products is used, it was gathered that the price is really low to the end. They sell their cloths (especially ladies cloths) from 200 Naira, depending on the grade. On checking some of their buyers, you even see people who are corporately dressed seriously patronizing them; and you then wonder, what is the percentage of people who patronize the boutique?
Someone claim that - by the time you buy these used cloths, wash them, starch them and Iron - you will see how new it will turn out to be.
Going further to the boutique, where new cloths are on display, the information received was that: a lot of people comes in for window shopping, while few eventually buy. It is said that their sales is majorly during a period of festival or when some people are having event or occasion.
