UK Threatens Nigeria Politicians

Catriona Laing.jpgWell, the last might not have been heard about Nigeria politicians asking the UK, US and International Communities to leave Nigeria alone with its elections.

Some Politicians from the major parties have said the International community is taking side, while it is also said that if they plan to observe elections, they should observe, write their report and leave.

The International Community on its side have however said, it is far from them taking side, but to make sure that the elections is free and fair.

In spite of this assurance by the International community, the Nigeria politicians still kick back at the foreigners.

But in what may be a throw in the towel for the Nigeria politicians, Catriona Wendy Campbell Laing, The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, has spoken in Abuja - Nigeria during the set up room for the elections polls to monitor the Nigeria Elections that any politicians that is seen to be causing trouble during or after the elections will have the UK to contend with. She cited this of course knowing that most Nigerians and many Politicians have properties in the UK and come there regularly. She said, The United Kingdom could deny trouble makers during this elections: Visa, Entry permission, Seize their properties in the United Kingdom and even apply serious offence on them.

So, it is a case of - if you think we should not monitor you in your country, then we will shake you if you intend to come to us.
