After the meeting with stakeholders on the
same 16th, they assured Nigerians that 23rd of February
2019 will not dash without filling it with a Winners name. Well, that is if they
have finished collating results or no re-run.
But, the questions to ask are:
·
Is Truly INEC ready for this election?
·
Even if INEC is
not ready, they will want to conduct it for the fear of what people will say
·
Is the incumbent President ready to leave if he loses?
·
Does he have the heart of Jonathan to stand up against those
that will want him to say elections results will not be accepted if he lost?
·
Will the major opposition party accept defeat after spending
so many dollars as been speculated and also claiming that the ruling party has
contacted people to rig the elections?
·
Are the south-south militants ready to accept the result, if the major opposition party loses - as they have earlier claimed - that they will
make the economy crippled if the present administration retain power through
the back door; as their preferred choice is the major opposition party candidate.
·
Hope people will be safe to freely vote without being
intimidated by "trigger" happy officers?
·
Is INEC truly independent enough to announce the true
election results without fear of impartiality?
·
Is the Card reader really ready and trusted?
·
Will the major contestants allow peace to be as both have
already signed the peace agreement document?
For lovers of Politics, this should be interesting states results
to watch out for - going by antecedents and present events:
Kwara State: This is the state of the present senate president who have
enjoyed positive election results over the years even from his father’s days, no matter the party he pitches with. But present occurrences in the state shows that this year voting will be a thug of war with the enough is enough slogans state. Will the ruling party be able
to win the state from the senate president?
River State: The south-south region area is a strong hold for the
major opposition party, and the ruling party is interested in this state. This
will be interesting too, as the governor of the state and the present minister of transportation are both fighting for who is the landlord of the state.
Kano State: This northern state of the country belong to the red cap man of the state,
former kano state governor and also one the contestant during the presidential
primary election of the major opposition party. He was formally with the ruling
party but switched. The ruling party also has their supporters in high fold
there too. It will be interesting to see if the former governor who you can recognize
is followers with red caps will be defeated.
This election should be allowed to be free and fair so that we all
can enjoy how results will turn out in each state.
