Tragedy struck as Immigrant trying to cross from Mexico into the United States of America died while trying. The Agony was much heightened as the picture taken by julia le duc showed a father and daughter. Narrating the account was the wife and mother of the victims-Vanessa Ávalos. According to her, her husband Martínez Ramírez arrived in Matamoros on Sunday, to request asylum from US authorities with his wife, Vanessa Ávalos, and their daughter, Valeria.
But, when he realized that it could be weeks before they were even able to start the asylum process, he then decided they should swim across to the borders of Texas.“He crossed first with the little girl and he left her on the American side. Then he turned back to get his wife, but the girl went into the water after him. When he went to save her, the current took them both,” the statement according to The Guardian.
What makes it more touching is the love bonds between father and daughter still showed in death; as the daughter still hugs the father while both are lifeless.
