There is something about youth that makes you want to conquer the world. When I was 21, there was this surge of excitement, this incredible belief that the world was mine to own and anything I wanted I would get.
The older I got, the wiser I became. I realized that to get results, to achieve anything – a great marriage, great career, great relationships, great health, etc – I needed to work hard, cultivate good relationships and pay it forward. I learnt to give people a chance the same way other people gave to me when I was younger. I realized that faith has so much to do with everything we are today and in the future.
These past 50 years have taught me a great deal, and today, as I celebrate a golden age, I am grateful to God, to my family, friends, colleagues, friends, and my wards, for this wonderful gift of life.
In a few weeks, I hope to make additional commitments to realizing some of my dreams.
