DISCOS Electricity to work out modality with the National Assembly with the consent of Mr. President to give Nigerians free electricity for 2 months - said Mr. Sunday Oduntan - Spokesman for Discos.
Mr. Oduntan said that this initiative was to reduce the hardship COVID-19 has already caused many. Though he added that, it is not directly from them as been speculated by many; but a move by the federal government to which the national assembly will work out guidelines.
Mr. Sunday also said people using the prepaid meters will also benefits from the initiatives, and that for those who have paid for much credits on their meters should not have anything to worry about - as the engineers will make sure nobody is short-change in this free power that is been given.
He however state that, Nigerians can only begin to rejoice only when it is been approved by the presidency.
