Solskjaer hopes to extend Man Utd’s Ighalo loan deal

Man Utd want to keep Odion Ighalo on loan but there is no agreement yet

The Nigerian born former watford player - Ighalo, is due to return to his Chinese Club this Sunday. Manchester United signed Odion Ighalo on a six-month loan from Shanghai Shenhua in January. The Striker started brightly by scoring 4 goals for the Reds.

He has become fans favourite just like new recruit Bruno, who both played together in Udinese - Italy. His bright start which could have seal his permanent deal had been hampered by the coronavirus which halt all matches in England since March.

While his Chinese Club want him to return at the end of this Month, The Manchester giant want to retain him till the end of the season; and, also want him to win a trophy. His Manager gives update on the situation:

“The loan deal went until the end of May now, so obviously he’s supposed to be going back.

“We’re in dialogue. They’ve been great towards us, his club, and allowed him to play for his dream club.

“It’s been a dream for him and hopefully he can finish off what he started, hopefully with a trophy for us.

“At the moment, nothing has been agreed. Their league is going to get started soon so we’re just waiting to see.”

However, Foot Mercato claim Ighalo’s associate Ladi Salami has told them that the striker is “very close” to an agreement over his wages.

Salami said: “The Super Eagle player feels very good in Manchester with whom he is very close to a salary agreement.

“Negotiations with the Chinese are ongoing and are going well.”
