Hawking on the street on Lagos-Nigeria is a daily job for many unemployed person(s) and even graduate. The sight of these guys on the road has become normal as they make daily living easy for people. While you can't but admire the hustle they put in to make sales, you fear for their safety also.
While these hawkers are on the road most minutes of the day, their peak period is the closing time of work; when people are already famished and looking for snacks and drink to take. From the call of these hawkers while car or bus is still moving, to trying to exchange cash, getting change for customers, sometimes leaving their stocks with total stranger and chasing cars to give product or get money and also escaping car brushing them is quite amazing.
You could look at some of these hawkers with pity at times, but the turn-over some of them make is unbelievable; and, you will be shocked for how long some of them have been in the business.
