Family announce the passing away of Sean Connery(James Bond)

Sir Sean Connery is dead: The James Bond actor dies aged 90.



For lovers of the James Bond movie series, you could not but love the way he gives life to his 007 character.


 


SIR SEAN CONNERY - who was best known for playing James Bond - has died at the age of 90.


The sad news of the star’s death was confirmed by his family.



The Scottish actor portrayed James Bond and was the first star to bring the role to the big screen in 1962's Dr No.


He went on to appear in seven of the spy movies.



Sir Sean’s acting career spanned decades and he won an Oscar, two Baftas and three Golden Globes as a reward for his work.



He received his Academy Award in 1998 when he took home the prestigious gong for best supporting actor for his role as an Irish police officer in The Untouchables.



The Scottish-born actor who rocketed to fame as James Bond and became one of the movies’ most popular and enduring international stars was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000.




Connery, long regarded as one of the best actors to have portrayed the iconic spy, marked his 90th birthday only in August. His death was confirmed by his family, according to the BBC, which notes that the actor died in his sleep while in the Bahamas. He had been unwell for some time.
