eronx as people close to him call him, had this Interview with us and it was fun to get to know him closely.

Hi Eromosele, or which of your names do you feel comfortable with?

Hello guys, my real name is Eromosele Edward Ozah. A lot of persons call me eronx and we become very close but they won’t even know my name real name is Eromosele. Lol. I was born August 31st 1996. I’m a God fearing person and I’m a very regular guy who has a drive for growth and I don’t believe in ordinary. I don’t believe impossible exists. Impossible is actually an excuse not to get certain things done and well you know, I’m a risk taker. I’m a dreamer too, so don’t try to wake me up. Lolz.

· You are a BeautyFX Artist And Makeup Artist with so much passion to your works. Your creativity is incredible for those who have seen your works. Tell us how you started as a Makeup Artist?

I usually laugh whenever I’m asked this question about how I started. It’s almost common amongst creative to always have a rough start and all well in this case,it’s no different. Lol. My beginning was not just hell,it felt as if I didn’t know what I was doing. Well I didn’t start as a makeup artist, I started as a nail stylist in Benson Idahosa University in Benin city. That was where I developed the interest and love for the art; but I couldn’t afford a real training fee so I started learning with my mom’s stuff. I can’t believe how I was able to handle those stuff lolz. To me then, I had all I needed to learn, but there was a limitation because I saw good works on people but I could never achieve them due to the fact that I didn’t have real makeup tools or brushes or real coloured palettes. I had an opportunity to learn makeup for two weeks for #3,500, and from this, I just said you can almost tell it’s gonna be rubbish. Well I paid and I went the first day, but I discovered all they were doing there were less than basics; so I stopped coming and kept learning on my own. That’s how I learnt. Self taught.

· You are from Benin-City, Edo State. The State is known for its numerous works of arts and culture, would you say you got the origin of your Art as Indigene of Benin?

Well Edo state is a state known for its rare cultural values and unique love for art and inbuilt creativity but no,they all have nothing to do with me. I strongly believe that if I had originated from another place I’d still be this same way, I don’t believe gifts and talents are not particular to a certain group of persons. Prolly if I was British I’d be better and stronger than I am now. Hahahahaha

· Was it an easy start up for you as a Makeup Artist?

Omo x10000000. It wasn’t easy o. This shit was hard but one thing I kept telling myself and I still tell myself is,if I can think it I can do it. Starting a career as a makeup artist isn’t funny when you don’t have support. Financially and materially, It wasn’t.

· There are several work to choose from, why Makeup Artist?

Lol. Okay now here’s the funny thing. I didn’t choose makeup first. Like i said earlier, I did nails. But before then, I learnt barbing. But everyone I knew then was into it. My closest friend was a fashion designer. I tried learning that but that wasn’t even coming to me,the only thing that ministers was anything that had to do with colour and beauty. So I decided to stick to it.

· Tell us about the story of the world record for the longest most standing marathon makeup #GuinessRecordLMM?

Sighs.  Guinness world records. Jezzz. That was one of the hardest projects I have ever had to embark on. Four failed applications and the fifth pulled through. There were lots of logistical implications as regards this project; starting with a very high budget. It was impossible to even think I could do that, I tried doing it in Lagos but getting a team to work with was not happening. Everybody was calling figures I had never seen in my Life😂😂. I was given a date - July 26th. I had to write to have the date moved to August 30. The application was accepted June 11th, and I had a month to prepare and it was just too short. I also had to change the location of the attempt to Edo state because I had initially put Lagos because I was staying in Lagos at that time. I got a project manager, we worked and started sending out proposals for sponsorship and support. God willing, I met the governor of Edo state. He threw his weight behind me and a cosmetic brand in Singapore also sent support. It wasn’t easy getting everything done, from getting models, to getting a team of qualified photographers and videographers, but then I had the best guys around as friends who flew in from different states just to get everything working. I honestly did not know how they did it but they did. Oh did I mention that the light went off like three times. Lolz but we had already planned for such - so we connected a UPS to the screen so I can get powered when anything goes wrong so the time did not stop. I finished the first makeup in 19 mins.  At about the 18th hour, I lost strength and I couldn’t pull through. I was weak because I had not eaten, I couldn’t eat because I had very soft stomach and I didn’t want to have to run to the toilet every minute, coz me being there, I’d have cameras on me, that was the rule. All I do throughout the attempt would be recorded. Even my toilet breaks were recorded. But I Prayed and told God that I didn’t come out and pulled this much crowd to come watch me fail. It can’t happen. From nowhere, after drinking water on my fifth break - I regained strength but this didn’t happen immediately, I felt very sleepy. I just signaled my best friend to play my favorite artist and I became normal again. Haha haha. Well at 1:00pm, I completed my 24 hours journey and I took a break. But ended around 3:45 pm, Making it 28:49:43. Hours, mins, and seconds respectively. It was only possible through God and a good team and supportive friends who wanted to see me win. It was marvelous. God is indeed good.

· What makes your work of art different from others, do you feel you are more creative or your works tell stories?

My works different from others doesn’t make me the most creative. For all I know, no one does the Same thing with me in the country. I named my art BeautyFX, It simply means: beauty and special effects in one. A union of both worlds, six of one half a dozen of the other. That is my art, my art signifies the struggle and the pain and the growth. The process. I express myself better by putting into colours and images.

· What do you intend to achieve on the long run with your work (Your Plans)?

Well they say the end goal of every makeup artist is to own a beauty line. It’s a great thing to actually own a beauty line. But I don’t feel that’s all there is to being a makeup artist. I feel the makeup world has advanced passed that stage.

I want to in the end train people who’ll be able to stand in the society and say that they do makeup. I want to in the end make sure just owning a makeup certificate can get same respect as someone who has a masters degree; because, we all use our Brains and in our craft there is more to it than just the result you see on the faces of our clients.

Quantitative reasoning is applied in our craft. Conscious effort is put into the most suitable look. Makeup should be studied as a whole course in colleges and not as technical skills. Contour, highlight, microblading, air-brushing, reverse contour, illusion and transformation and more. All this deserve to be recognized not just by awards but degrees. If it’s gonna take me to dedicate my life to it. I’m game.

· What are the things that challenge you to do more in your work?

Truthfully when I look around me and I see what the world is turning into and the society today, I do not see a reason to remain where I was. The world is bored and they need something to feed their eyes with. I do not want to bear kids in the same environment I struggled in. I want to give the best to the people around me and myself.

· What challenges have you faced?

Firstly, finance. Creating the kind of content I do. It’s expensive and not every time I’ll have enough to do as much as I’d love to.

Secondly, getting real materials. I always have to improvise with home made products. So it’s not actually easy doing it without sponsors. And not having a space of mine. Tough thing you know.

· Have you got to a position where you thought of quitting?

Lol yes o. 2017. I even put my makeup kit out for sale. No jobs. No funds. Even the passion could not hold me any longer. But then the people around me didn’t want such. Their words brought me back and they reminded me of my dreams and I didn’t want it to be written anywhere that I gave up.

· There are several Makeup Artist around now, is it that it’s very lucrative or very easy to learn?

Makeup isn’t easy. Same reason you only hear about certain names because those ones are the pioneers and they know what it entails and they are also good. Not everyone gets well paid as a makeup artist. There is a certain class that gets the big pay. It pays. So, everyone wants a piece of it. But if you are in it for the cash, then be ready to spend too. Cos good products are not gotten from giveaways all the time.

· How do you get your creative works; online or do you imagine them?

I see a lot of works. I get inspired. Plus I also have ideas that drop in me, maybe as a dream or daylight thought. Lol crazy I know.

· What makes you satisfied as a Makeup Artist?

Achieving a look I imagined either for myself or a client.

· What advice do you have for those who want to emulate you?

Sincere advice. Do what makes you happy. Do what you believe in. Invest in yourself. You’ll go broke when you are trying to be unique in what you do. Yes. But that’s actually the icing. Cease every opportunity you get.  Risk things. It’s risky not to take a risk. Be daring. Nothing is impossible. And lastly, Know your God.

· Album wish you all the best - Eromosele Edward ozah.

Thank you and God bless you all. Cheers
