OBJ @ 85 PLAYS FOOTBALL


Former Nigeria Leader and President, Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo, has clocked 85. Obasanjo participated in a novelty 5 aside match - played at the pitch of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.



The football activity which is part of the event to mark his 85th birthday celebration, drew the presence of the 91-year-old President of Benin Republic - Nicephore Soglo, and former Minister of Justice & Attorney General of the Federation - Chief Bayo Ojo, among others.


A lot of people have sent in messages to congratulate the elder statesman.








 Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State, who is the chairman of The Northern Governors Forum, described Obasanjo as a nationalist and passionate leader whose patriotism is paramount in all his engagements.




Lalong said at 85, Obasanjo continues to offer his wise counsel to leaders at various levels, as well as participate in national dialogue aimed at tackling insecurity, poverty, disease and intolerance.




He wished him many more years of good health and God’s protection, urging him never to relent in lending his voice towards a greater Nigeria.
