Jesse Lingard completes SHOCK move to Nottingham Forest

After leaving Manchester United unceremoniously, Jesse Lingard was perceived to be on the way back to West Ham where he had a successful loan spell.

It was a completes SHOCK that the former United youth player has now signed for Nottingham Forest on a free transfer, with the England star penning a one-year contract at the City Ground worth nearly £200,000-a-week.

Jesse Lingard has completed his medical at the newly promoted Premier League club - Nottingham Forest, after leaving Manchester United for free.

Lingard recently left Manchester United after his contract expired. The England international spent his whole career at his boyhood club, barring a few loan spells.

Lingard is thought to have signed an initial 12-month deal - though Forest will be hoping to extend that if he performs well.

The 29-year-old has not given up hope of forcing his way into Gareth Southgate’s squad for this winter’s World Cup in Qatar, after he was a key man in England’s run to the semi-finals four years ago.
