Mourinho Sacked By AS Roma

Roma has parted ways with Legendary Mourinho. Jose Mourinho was sacked today by AS Roma after a disappointing run in Serie A. Former player Daniele De Rossi has been named as his replacement.

The Portuguese manager guided the club to the UEFA Europa Conference League title in 2022, following it up with a run to the UEFA Europa League final a year later. His feat with Roma in 2022 put back Roma on the spot light after many years without any trophy. But after a difficult season in spite of recruiting Lukaku, the club have endured a difficult season this time around and are ninth in the league.

"We would like to thank Jose on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for his passion and efforts since his arrival at the club," said Roma owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin.

"We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club.

"We wish Jose and his assistants all the best in their future endeavours."

Later on Tuesday, the club confirmed that De Rossi, who was mostly recently in charge of SPAL, will take charge until the end of the current campaign.
