Wike Summoned Emergency Security Meeting In FCT Due To Kidnapping

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has summoned an emergency security meeting amid the worrisome insecurity situation in the Federal Capital Territory.

In the past few weeks, bandits have ravaged some parts of the FCT, abducting residents from their homes.

The incidents which have created tension around the country became heightened when some residents including a 13-year-old secondary school student were killed over failure to meet the deadline for a ransom payment.

Wike said the government was working to support security agents with all they need to tackle insecurity.

Among those in attendance are heads of security agencies in the FCT, top officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), council chairmen, as well as traditional rulers.

Wike warned the area council chairmen to be alive to their responsibility at the local level.
