Dr. Doyin Okupe has been pronounced Dead.
He was said to have been sick for some time, but died in the early hours of Friday in Lagos at the age of 72.
He was a popular figure during the Obasanjo era as Presidential spokesperson to former Presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo and also during Goodluck Jonathan.
Dr. Okupe is from Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government area of Ogun State.
The Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, Jamiu Ashimi, confirmed the report.
Ashimi said, “I just confirmed the tragic news of the passing of Dr Doyin Okupe. May his soul rest in peace”.
He was a physician who co-founded Royal Cross Medical Centre.
A former governorship aspirant in Ogun State, under the Peoples Democratic Party.
He was also with the Labour party, a voice for the party before he resigned.
