President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed one of his cabinet popular figure in the person of Wale Edun, who occupy the seat of Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. He is now substituted with Taiwo Oyedele.
The outgoing ministers have been directed to complete handover processes to their successors on or before April 23rd, 2026.
The SGF, George Akume, said “These changes are aimed at strengthening cohesion, synergy in governance as well as achieving more impactful delivery on the economy to Nigerians, through the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
He added that - The President also appreciated the outgoing ministers for their service and wished them well in their future endeavors.
Also removed is the Minister of Housing and Urban Development - Ahmed Dangiwa. Dangiwa is replaced by Dr. Muttaqha Darma.
