Tiger woods is set to be the best ever golf player in history. The 43 years old American has won a record-equalling 82nd PGA Tour title; with victory at the Zozo Championship in Japan. He finished three shots ahead of Japanese Hideki Matsuyama  to match the record of Tour wins previously held by Sam Snead set in 1965.

It's been a long week, five days at the top of the board is a long time. It was definitely stressful.

"I'm at a point where I didn't know if I would ever play again. I was just hoping to be able to walk normal again. To be able to go through all that to get to where I'm at now, I'm very appreciative.

"I know how it feels to have this game, what I felt like taken away from me, where I couldn't participate in the way that I wanted to. Just so happy and so fortunate to be able to have this opportunity again."

"I didn't really know that I would come back and play at this level," Woods added. "But the fact that I could get down to read putts again something that I haven't had to be able to do in months.

“Unfortunately I went through some rough patches with my back and didn’t play for a number of years, so that record seemed like it was out of reach, it’s about consistency and doing it for a long period of time."

“Sam did it into his 50s and I’m in my early to mid 40s.” “As far as playing until 52, I hope that's the case,”

“If you would have asked me a few years ago, I would have given you a different answer, but certainly the future looks brighter than it has.
“The body can't do what it used to but I can still think my way around the golf course.

“I know how to play and I was able to do that this week. There was a time if I didn't know if I would play again so I am very appreciative.”
