Rochas Okorocha Slam With N500m Bail Fee

There seem to be some form of respite for Rocahas Okorocha, as Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday imposed bail conditions on the former Imo State Governor who is standing trial for alleged N2.9 billion corruption charges.

Okorocha and the EFCC who were involved in slight drama on May 24, in his residence before he was arrested, was presented in court for the second time for his bail application. The serving senator was admitted to bail in the sum of N500 million with a surety in the same amount by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja.

Apart from the N500 million, he was barred from traveling out of the country except with the express permission of the court.

The judge ordered the Senator representing Imo West in the National Assembly to deposit his traveling passport with the court registrar.

In addition, the judge ordered that Immigration must be alerted in writing by the court registrar that Okorocha’s traveling passport is with the court, and as such, must not be allowed to move out of the country.

The judge adjourned the matter until November 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 for trial.
