23 year old Mbappe’s current deal at PSG expires at the end of the 2021/22 season, and the lure of the Santiago Bernabeu looked as if it would be too good to resist for the young French super star.
Reports have it that Kylian Mbappe has already agreed a deal with Real Madrid, and already told the Spanish giant he is signing for them; only to make a U-TURN to sign a new deal with PSG.
The package to Kylian Mbappe to sign a new deal with PSG is said to be INSANE. Mbappe is set to receive a signing bonus of €300 million and a yearly wage of €100 million from PSG.
Spain's La Liga reacted angrily to the news, calling the deal "scandalous" and announcing it plans to file a complaint to Uefa as well as French and EU authorities.
Kylian Mbappe who saw the outrage of his signing, came out to clear the air: I would like to sincerely thank Real Madrid and their president Florentino Perez,"
"I am aware of the chance and privilege I had at being coveted by such an institution (Real Madrid)."
He also explained the reason he decided to stay with the French Champions: "I would like to thank the president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, for his confidence, his attention and his patience.
"I also have a thought for all of the PSG supporters, in France and around the world, for their countless shows of affection, especially in these last few months."
However he went with his reasons, Spanish TV presenter - Jose Felix Diaz was furious with the striker's decision.
The presenter said - he will never be a man and that he is a coward.
Speaking live on Spanish TV, Diaz said: 'Just 10 days ago you were giving your word [to Real Madrid]. They sent you a shirt and you received it for your birthday.
'You were denying report that were proven to be true. Mbappe, you're not a sportsman. You don't keep your word. You're not a man. It's that clear. I can't consider you as one.
'Why? Because you've misled millions of people, not only Florentino Perez. Just two weeks ago, or even 10 days ago, you still said 'yes'.
'Then, you were so cowardly that you didn't even phone, you just sent a message. You just showed what you are. You're a man who doesn't keep his word.
'You'll be a great player, but never a great man.'
