Dr. Maryam Shetty Speaks After Her Name Was Withdrawn From The Ministerial Screening

Dr. Maryam Shetty who was earlier nominated as a minster from Kano State, has been withdrawn by the president. Dr. Shetty had earlier been congratulated by her friends who believe her screen will just be a mere formality, until her name was replaced with another indigene of Kano State.

She wrote, “I was just informed now at today’s plenary session that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu has withdrawn my ministerial nomination and replaced me with Dr Mariga Mahmoud.

Dr. Shetty however remains grateful for Tinubu’s unrelenting support and thankful for any decision from him. Dr. Shetty also thanked the Vice President, Kashim Shettima for his support.

“I’m grateful and thankful for any decision from you My President!”

The President’s communication was addressed to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, who read it during plenary.

The President however did not give any reason for Dr. Shetty’s replacement as a ministerial nominee.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated former spokesperson for the Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo as minister. Keyamo’s name as a ministerial nominee was announced on Friday in the red chamber of the national assembly.
